Different types of coded yarn tubes are supplied to the storage arrangement of textile machines (48, 49, 50) by a closed loop conveyor (2). The tubes are placed singly on the conveyor and the coding is recognised so that the appropriate tubes are diverted to the appropriate store or working position as needed while unwanted tubes continue to circulate on the conveyor loop.Feeder section (3) pref. has singulators and sorters (4, 5, 6) which place the tubes (13, 25, 33) singly and with the correct orientation on the conveyor (2). Sensors (54, 81, 114, 142, 170, 175) recognise the tube coding and operate diverters (53, 84, 118, 143) which send the tubes to the textile machines (48, 49, 50).
