Automatic clutch reset for motor vehicle clutch

The clutch pedal (1) has two pedal arms (3,4) spaced from the pedal bearing axis, having cone faces (7,8). Cone faces (16,17) of cone wedges (14,15) of the clamping member (9) are brought into contact with the cone faces of the pedal arms.The clutch cable is fixed to the circumference of a disc segment (22) between the cone wedges and the parallel faces (18,19) of the cone wedges are brought into contact with the parallel faces of the discs segment. A spring (30) preloads the clamping member relative to the clutch pedal. A segment spring preloads the disc segment and clutch pedal relative to each other. The springs combine with stops to ensure clamping on operation of the clutch pedal.
