The elastic foil (10) is shaped by a suction gripper (11) into a curved form in which the edge of the foil element has a reduced circumference compared to its flat state. It is then inserted by the suction gripper into the socket holder which has a rear-cut edging whose inner circumference is less than the circumference of the foil edge. The gripper is then ventilated and the foil element relaxes and engages under the edging.The suction gripper has a circumferential edge (12) and an inwardly curved holding face (13) attached to an air channel (14). The size of the gripper matches the size of the foil element.
