The steering arm is fitted with a wedge-shaped stop (7) mounted on a swivel axis (9) and spring loaded (10) into a mid position. The stop locates into a recess (6) mounted on a fixed part of the vehicle when the steering is at full lock. The interaction of the wedge and the recess provide a non-rubbing end stop with reduced end stop noise.The fixed section of the end stop can be an elastic material held in a support. The wedge-shaped end stop can be replaced by a spherical stop locating in a spherical socket.
