An inductive code transmitter is cast non-detachably in a housing for the purpose of coding. The housing is arranged in a suitably matching indent (27) in the bumper cap (15) which encloses the roller (13) being used for transport. The code transmitter lies in approximately the same horizontal plane with the axis (14) for the roller (13).The back of the housing can have at least two projections (10,11) which engage in corresponding bores (30,31) provided in the indent in the cap. The housing can be made of plastics and closes flush with the bumper cap.
