A linear magnetic coupling for moving objects is proposed. It comprises a tubular casing (3) having rectangular cross-section, on which a mobile unit (6) is moved in longitudinal motion. The latter consists of a driving part (7), constituted by a free piston, which is arranged in the casing (3) and a case-like driven part (8) which is arranged outside the casing (3). The driving part (7) carries an internal magnetic device (15, 15') which is magnetically coupled with an external magnetic device (16, 16') of the driven part (8), so that the two parts move together with each other. The casing walls (19, 19' in Fig. 2) arranged between the driving part (7) and the driven part (8) have, along the possible stroke of the mobile unit (6), strip-like wall sections (18, 18' in Fig. 2) which extend flat. The two magnetic devices (15, 15'; 16, 16') can both extend flat and are arranged parallel to the flat wall sections (18, 18' in Fig. 2) which run between the two magnetic devices (15, 16; 15', 16'). This results in a compact and cost-efficient arrangement having high carrying capacity. <IMAGE> |
