A solid electrolyte gas-sensing device comprising a solid electrolyte layer (9) provided between a reference electrode layer (7) and a working electrode layer (8), the working electrode layer (8) having a mixture layer (8a) at the interface between the solid electrolyte layer (9) and the working electrode layer (8), the mixture layer (8a) comprising a metal salt which shows dissociation equilibrium with the gas to be measured and an electron-conducting substance in an amount of from 0.5 to 14 % by volume based on the mixture layer (8a).
