Compact control valve for hydraulic servo system

The valve has a rectangular block (6) moving in a shaped bore between two end settings. The inlets for the two hydraulic systems have separate valves (3a, 3b) and are flanked by seals (8a, 8b) fitted to the block. A common dump line (R) connects to the sump.The block is displaced in either direction from a middle setting by the servo control forces. A small control movement first closes the return line in a particular servo and then applies the servo pressure.
