The present invention relates to an anti-theft device for automobiles and other vehicles having combustion engines. The anti-theft device is characterized in that it consists of a sleeve (2) designed to be fitted over the rear end (10) of an exhaust pipe, said sleeve comprising a lock (1) connected to a screw or a shaft (4) provided with a thread, which when turned in one direction by means of the sleeve (2) is designed to cause collet jaws (6) for clamping to the exhaust pipe, and in the other direction to release them. The lock (1) is designed in one position to connect the screw, etc. to the outer sleeve (2) in order to cause the collet jaws (6) to block or release, and in another position to release the screw, etc. (6) from the outer sleeve (2), whereupon the engine cannot be started. |
