A sign assembly 10 has a frame 13, 14 supporting a flat sign member 30 whose peripheral edge lies in a groove 22 in the frame. A frame element 19 on one side of the sign member can be moved to disengage from the sign member which can then be removed and replaced. Manually releasable pins 40 may assist in holding element 19 in engaged position. A handle 17, 18 is provided the frame has a hinged rear part with legs 32, 33.
