PURPOSE:To provide a navigation apparatus wherein it is improved in such a way that a map matching operation which searches a verification point specified according to the direction of geomagnetism can be executed efficiently and it utilizes geomagnetism. CONSTITUTION:In Step 101, the intensity of geomagnetism at every specific cycle is computed, and, in Step 102, the means value and the irregularity of the intensity of geomagnetism are found. In Step 103, the accuracy of geomagnetism is computed so as to correspond to the irregularity of the intensity of the geomagnetism, and, in Step 104, the direction of geomagnetism is found. Then, a verification point is searched in a direction width corresponding to the accuracy of geomagnetism. |
