PURPOSE:To discharge a defectively packaged product assuredly even when the defectively packaged product is a product which cannot be sorted by a measuring conveyor by a method wherein the passing time and weight of a packaged product after the completion of a pillow type packaging are measured at the same time, and the packaged product is compared with an optimum packaged product. CONSTITUTION:An object to be packaged 5a is interrupted, and an empty bag is generated and is not cut by a knife 10, and is let out on a discharging conveyor together with the following object to be packaged 5b. For this reason, the object to be packaged 5b shuts off a commodity detecting sensor 23 longer than a specified period of time for passing, and the signal of the commodity detecting sensor 23 provides an ON signal even after the time of a timer for a judging circuit 50 is up. Therefore, after the time is up, the judging circuit 50 generates a defective package signal, and if the weight of the packaged product is within an optimum range or heavier than the optimum weight, a sorting gate 26 is operated, and the weight is not more than the optimum range, a sorting gate 27 is operated, and the packaged product is discharged to the outside of the line. Also, when an empty bag is fortunately cut for one bag portion, a load cell 24 of a measuring conveyor 20 detects it, and the empty bag is discharged to the outside of the line by operating the sorting gate 27. Therefore, all defective packaged products other than those with a pattern slipping and defective bonding position are totally discharged.
