The invention proposes a burner and a process for coating articles with carbon by means of this burner, where, according to the invention, a nozzle (11) having a plurality of exit apertures (12) for an oxygen-containing gas and a fuel gas is located in the burner head (9) of the burner, and a mixing chamber (13) having at least one exit aperture (15) is connected downstream of the burner head (9). The gas mixture passed into the mixing chamber (13) is ignited therein by means of an ignition source (10), forming carbon as coating material, which flows together with the combustion gases out of the outlet aperture (15) onto the article to be coated. The coating material may additionally be deflected in a certain direction, compressed or accelerated by means of enveloping gas streams which surround the outlet aperture (15) of the mixing chamber (13). The process according to the invention is suitable for the targeted coating of articles, for example in glassmaking, with release coatings of carbon. |
