PURPOSE:To stably form flames at the surface part of a burner member by allowing mixed gas to flow through a porous member with a specified structure for a burner and by burning the mixed gas and maintain stable combustion with rarer fuel gas by preheating the mixed gas, using exhaust heat of high- temperature exhaust gas. CONSTITUTION:An airtight space is demarcated by closing the upper surface of an enclosure E forming the housing of the apparatus, using a permeable window G for heat rays and a feed passage K and an exhaust passage H are concentrically demarcated by providing a cylindrical metallic partition P in this airtight space. The upper end part of the passage K is connected to feed port KP for mixed gas of fuel gas and air, which is fed from a mixed gas feed apparatus RMS for fuel, and the upper end of the passage K is allowed to communicate with a combustion chamber N facing the permeable window G through the central range of a burner plate S. That is, four metallic fiber- sintered mats S are provided so as to stride across the passages K, H at a cross section, a part S1 of the mats S, which part faces the combustion chamber N, is used as a burner combustion face, and flames F are stably maintained at the surface part thereof. |
