摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To improve both the discharge withstand current rating characteristic and moisture resisting characteristic of a nonlinear resistor by forming high- resistance layers on the side faces of a sintered body composed mainly of ZnO by hardening a composite material composed of a fluororesin, Id compound, and Si compound. CONSTITUTION:A composite material which is the mixture of aluminum orthophosphate, silicon orthophosphate, and fluororesin is applied with a spray gun to the side faces of a sintered body 1 composed mainly of a zinc oxide. After drying the composite material, high-resistance layers 2 are formed by hardening the material at 400 deg.C. Both end faces of the sintered body 1 with the layers 2 are polished and an electrode 3 is formed by frame spray coating. Thus the title nonlinear resistor is formed. Since the composite material used for forming the layers 2 contains the fluororesin and the fluororesin blocks through pores, the moisture resisting characteristic of the resistor is improved. In addition, the Al(H2PO4)3 and Si(H2PO4)4 respectively become Al2O3 and SiO2 at about 400 deg.C, the discharge withstand current rating characteristic of the resistor is improved as compared with the conventional nonlinear resistor the high-resistance layer of which is formed by baking at >=1,000 deg.C.</p>
