发明名称 MAGNETO-OPTICAL RECORDING MEDIUM
摘要 PURPOSE:To significantly improve recording density by reproducing recording bits which are much smaller than the irradiation region of a light beam. CONSTITUTION:This magneto-optical disk has an exchange-coupled three-layer film consisting of a read-out layer 1, intermediate layer 3, and recording layer 2 formed in this order. The read-out layer 1 has an intraplane magnetization and changes into a perpendicular magnetization state at >temp. T1. The intermediate layer 3 is a perpendicular magnetization film having T3 Curie temp. The recording layer 2 is a perpendicualr magnetization film having T2 curie temp. These temperatures T1, T2, T3 satisfy the relation of T1<T2<T3. Only a recorded bit 13 in the recorded bits in the recording layer 2 is to be reproduced by irradiation of a light beam since only the bit 13 is present in the irradiation region 22, in the region 33 at >T1, and out of the region 44 at >T3.
