PURPOSE:To provide a remote control device with a preset function by instantaneously judging an equipment name, a maker and a mode and performing preset setting by a microcomputer when an operation code of the dedicated remote controller of an equipment as a sample. CONSTITUTION:The preset setting of a VTR is performed. A reproducing button is pressed while pressing a set button 6 and remote control signals are inputted to a light receiving element 1. By a remote control decoding part 2, a reader width, the width of bits 0 and 1, a number of bits and a period time or the like are measured and the format of input signals and data contents are analyzed. Which code of the various kinds of remote control codes stored in a preset data ROM 4 is the same as the analyzed results is judged at a comparison part 5. As the compared result, the remote control signals of the equipment to be controlled are VTR and can decide what the name of the maker and the mode are. The result, a controlled equipment name, the maker and the mode, are displayed on a display element 7. When a partinent code is not inside the ROM, the effect that preset can not be performed is displayed. |
