PURPOSE:To provide an animal skin-treating agent sprayed on pets or livestock to control insect pests such as clothes moths, lice and mites and to cure their dermatosis. CONSTITUTION:The animal skin treating agent contains the extract solution ingredient of an alga, preferably one or more of algae selected from Eucheuma serra, Eucheuma muriatum, Ceramium tenerrimun, Ceramium paniculatum, and Ceramium japonicum, belonging to the genus Eucheuma and/or the genus Ceramiales in the Rhodophyta. The extract solution is produced by extracting the alga with hot water of 80-95 deg.C. The extract solution is preferably dispersed and emulsified in a vegetable oil in an amount of 1-10wt.% and further mixed with an organic acid so as to give a pH of 2-5 to the dispersion-emulsified solution. The extract solution may directly be applied but is preferably applied after added to a detergent or soap for animals in an amount of 1-10wt.%. |
