PURPOSE:To process identification and judgement at comparatively high speed without setting the speed of CPU to be high and setting the capacity of a memory to be large by arithmeticprocessing data by an arithmetic expression having coefficients weighted so that characteristics are displayed at every paper money different in types. CONSTITUTION:A read signal from an optical sensor 3 is amplified by an amplifier 6, and a signal passing through a switch 8 which is turned on/off by a pulse from a pulse generation circuit 7 generating the prescribed pulse whenever paper money 1 moves by a prescribed transportation length is digital-converted by an A/D converter 9 so as to transmit it to a bus line 10. All the signals transmitted to the bus line 10 are once held in RAM 11 with a pulse signal. CPU 12 executes an arithmetic processing by using the arithmetic expression and the coefficients, which are previously stored ROM 13. paper money is identified and the authenticity is judged. At that time, the type of paper money 1 is identified and larger arithmetic result is compared with a value which is previously stored in ROM 13, whereby the authenticity is judged. |
