The nebuliser consists of a housing (1) contg. a cup (9), with an aperture (5) in an inner base (4), through which a vibrator (8) can transmit vibrations to the base of the cup, while the latter is shaped to reflect part of the vibrations back towards the vibrator.The base (10) of the cup (9) is concave in shape when viewed from below, and the cup itself can be made from a thermally-moulded plastic, pref. polystyrene-polyethylene. The base (10) of the cup is between 0.05 and 0.2 mm. thick and pref. about 0.1 mm. A portion at least of the upper part of the cup (11,12) is between 0.1 and 0.5 mm. thick, and pref. 0.4 mm., and its concave base has a radius of curvature of between 50 and 150 mm.
