PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of cache registration, to shorten the processing time for the registration, and to remarkably reduce the memory necessary for cache. CONSTITUTION:This document processor is equipped with a character buffer means 118 for storing character positions and character codes on a buffer means 115. Then, the processing means 114 of the document processor stores character codes and characters corresponding to input character data whose character pattern data are not present in a cache means 117 in a character buffer means 118 and performs a expanding process and an updating process basing on the contents of the character buffer means 118 after a specific process unit ends. Further, the document processor is equipped with a control means which registers and controls character image data as part of the contents of the buffer means 115 as character pattern data to be reused. |
