<p>PURPOSE:To firmly fix a charge control agent on toner grains efficiently by adding the charge control agent to a cake of colored spherical particulates in the moist state. CONSTITUTION:Colored spherical particulates are acquired by polymerizing polymerizable monomers in a suspended medium in the existence of a colorant and/or magnetic powder by way of suspending them in the suspended medium. The particle diameter of these colored spherical particulates is made to be within a range of 3-50mum, favourably within a range of 3.5-20mum. Additionally, favourably, after adding water insoluble particulates (for example, hydrophobic silica) in the suspended solution at the point of time when the rate of polymerization of the colored spherical particulates becomes 90% or more, it is heat treated at the temperature of 50-98 deg.C and made into a block by way of fusing the colored spherical particulates with each other as well as carrying out polymerization aging. This particulate block is made into a moist cake by way of filtering and separating it from the suspended medium. To this moist cake, a charge control agent is added. Thereafter, drying treatment is carried out, and it is cracked.</p> |
