PURPOSE:To obtain identification signals in the recording tracks of either recessed parts or projecting parts of the optical disk formed with the identification signals, such as address information, in correspondence to either of the recording tracks of the recessed parts or the projecting parts. CONSTITUTION:The arrays of prepits 10 are formed as the identification signals by shifting these arrays in a radial direction by 1/4 the pitch of the recording tracks of the recessed parts or the projecting parts from the center line of the recording tracks of the respective recessed parts or the projecting parts. A beam spot 11 overlaps on the prepits 10, is subjected to sufficient modulation and can detect the identification signals even in the recording tracks of the recessed parts 3, 4, 5, 6 or the recording tracks of the projecting parts 7, 8, 9. Since there is no need for forming the prepits in both of the recording tracks of the recessed parts and the recording tracks of the projecting parts, the optical disk is produced by a smaller number of stages. |
