<p>PURPOSE:To improve display quality of a liquid crystal display device by suppressing the asymmetrical change in a non-linear resistance element due to polarity, reducing the application of a DC voltage to the liquid crystal, eliminating the degradation of the liquid crystal quality and preventing contrast drop, a flicker phenomenon and image-printing phenomenon being an after image. CONSTITUTION:In the liquid crystal display device in which a first electrode 2 and a second electrode 4 are formed on the first substrate 1, the non-linear resistance element 13 is formed in a region in which the side wall of the first electrode 2 and the second electrode 4 are superposed each other, the first substrate 1 and the second substrate 6 are stuck together at a prescribed interval and the liquid crystal 11 is encapsulated between the first substrate 1 and the second substrate 6, the film thickness of the first electrode 2 is reduced and a lighting part 16 for display to be used for the liquid crystal display device is arranged on the first substrate 1-side forming the first electrode 2 so that the non-linear resistance element 13 is irradiated with light beams.</p> |
