PURPOSE:To provide the generation method of a solid model by which the solid model of a surface can easily be generated from a rough wire frame model which is generated by making a design preferential. CONSTITUTION:A controller retrieves whether an end point which does not have an intersection with an other edge or end point exists or not at the end points of all edges consituting the rough wire frame model displayed in a display device. When the end point which does not have the intersection is detected, it is automatically corrected by a clearance d1 between the end point and the nearby edge or the end point, or an abnormal part is displayed so as to urge an operator to correct it. Since surface loop data are collectively generated from the corrected wire frame model, and the solid model of the surface is generated from the surface loop data, synthetic work time to the generation of the solid model of the surface from the rough wire frame model can be shortened.
