PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of important fault information and to reduce file capacity by excluding former information out of a monitor object. CONSTITUTION:Concerning this method for monitoring a hardware fault by storing the fault information in a fault information file 6, when any fault is generated, the information is stored in the fault information file 6 after adding monitor end time and when there is the fault information exceeding the monitor end time in the fault information file 6, the fault information is erased. On the other hand, the number of times of generating the fault for every fixed time for each piece of fault information of the same kind in the fault information file 6 is counted and when the number of times of generating the fault exceeds a threshold value, important fault information is generated and outputted. Further, when the important fault information is generated, all the fault information in the same kind as the fault information generating the important fault information is erased from the fault information file 6. |
