PURPOSE: To provide an electric terminal pin having a male type electric terminal, and an improved pin tip to be inserted into a plated through hole or the like of a printed circuit board. CONSTITUTION: A pin tip 22 has generally a shape of rounded pyramid formed by joining two opposite side faces 32, 57 of four slightly curved projections, with four edges 60 converged to the pin end. Two opposite side faces 32 of the pin tip are non-plated. The other two opposite side faces 57 of the pin tip 22 are plated with a conductive layer. A part of the conductive plating layer is overlapped to the edge 60 of the pin tip in a smoothed, that is, rounded state, so that the sharpness thereof is removed, and an additional plated area is formed on an exposed core material. The pin tip is shaped by cutting and imprinting work so that a shape of tip is formed, and the overlapped part of the electrically conductive plating layer is coined to the sharp edge of the pin tip. |
