PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of breakdown and damage or a developer driving means for supplying the developer inside a developer supplying device to a development unit. CONSTITUTION:A transistor Tr1 is turned on by the control signal from a controller 42 to rotate a developer supplying motor 51. In the controller 42, a detected voltage is converted to a digital value, and compared with a previously stored predetermined value. As a result of this comparison, in the case where a detected value is smaller than the predetermined value, condition of a load is judged to be normal, and the ordinary control is performed. On the other hand, in the case where a detected value is larger than the predetermined value, abnormality such as condensation and clogging or the like of the toner inside a developer supplying device is judged to exist. In the case where the generation of abnormality is judged to exist, the transistor Tr1 is turned off to stop the drive of the motor 51. Breakdown of a driving system member and damage of the motor 51 are thereby prevented. |
