PURPOSE:To hold the toner supplying quantity to a developing unit constant by controlling a bite quantity of a scraping member into a toner supplying roller in response to the residual quantity of the toner. CONSTITUTION:A toner scraping member 17, which is in contact with the peripheral surface of a toner supplying roller 14, is provided freely to go forward and backward to/from the toner supplying roller 14. A bite quantity delta of the toner scraping member 17 into the toner supplying roller 14 is controlled by a bite quantity control device 18. In the bite quantity control device 18, a cam 20 is provided in a shaft 19 supported by a toner supplying device 1 freely to turn. A bite quantity delta of the toner scraping member 17 is controlled by rotating the cam 20 in response to a toner level inside a toner housing unit 2, which is detected by a level sensor 12, namely, the residual quantity of the toner. Reduction of the toner quantity held in the periphery of the toner supplying roller 14 is thereby compensated by the increase of the bite quantity delta. |
