Aim control for light weapon with target over large distance

The control involves using a photosensitive array (16) receiving rays from part (14) of the optical system (12). A circuit processes the array signals and provides signals for a memory, an electroluminescent display screen (22) and the automatic firing system. The aim axis is stabilised by a gyroscope or by a cardan suspension of the optical equipment. Processing circuits display a graticule on the screen with optimum contrast. A proximity senser comprising a moving part in the optical equipment and a fixed part in the weapon detects coincidence of aim and firing axis XX1, within a predetermined tolerance.
