MAGNETO-OPTICAL RECORDING MEDIUM AND RECORDING METHOD

摘要

PURPOSE:To provide the magneto-optical recording medium and information recording method capable of stably recording signals having high C/N with a laser of <=500nm wavelength and remarkably increasing the density. CONSTITUTION:This magneto-optical recording medium is constituted by forming a recording film on a substrate having concentrical or spiral grooves and executes recording and reproducing of information by irradiating the laser beam of <=500nm wavelength to the recording film by using an objective lens having >=0.55 numerical aperture. The track pitch is 0.5 to 0.9mum and the recording parts for recording the information are the flat parts in the bottom of the groove parts. The height of the land parts between the grooves and the grooves where the wavelength of the mentioned above laser beam is defined as lambda and the refractive index of the substrate as n is lambda/10n to lambda/4n and the width of the bottom parts of the land parts is 0.1 to 0.3mum.
