PURPOSE:To obtain a fixing device capable of sufficiently discharging volatile silicone oil even if a transparent paper is used as a recording material by setting a fan so as to changeover its sucking quantity according to the kind of the recording material. CONSTITUTION:The fan 220 whose air blasting quantity is changable is disposed on the side of a fixing roller 210 on the upper side of an exit guide 213 and the air blasting quantity of the fan 220 is changed in accordance with the fact that the recording material P is the transparent paper or a plain paper. Thus, the silicone oil generated when the transparent paper passes can be surely discharged so that sticking to an optical system, etc., can be surely prevented. The fan 220 is driven with 2m/sec air capacity normally and with 4m/sec when the transparent paper passes. Moreover, the rotary blade 220a of the fan 220 is not made fast but two of the same fan 220 are installed in parallel and two fans are driven only when the transparent paper passes. |
