PURPOSE:To compensate coloring of the cell, make it colorless and improve the visibility of display by providing a filter having the color of the complementary color relation with the coloration hue of the liquid crystal cell on the outer surface of the liquid crystal cell. CONSTITUTION:In the liquid crystal cell formed by sealing liquid crystal 4 between the transparent substrates 1, 1 provided respectively with transparent electrodes 2, 12 and disposing polarizing plates 5, 6 on both sides and a reflecting plate 7 on the back side, a filter 8 having the color of the complementary color relation with the coloration hue of the liquid crystal cell (e.g., a pale bluish green color when the liquid crystal cell shows a pale pink color) is provided on the front surface side of the liquid crystal cell. |
