<p>PURPOSE:To provide a position detector having such a simple constitution that a stylus pen which detects the potential of a conductive film by capacitive coupling to a tablet, is used and a position can be detected by only processing the signal from this stylus pen. CONSTITUTION:The conductive film is provided on a substrate, and a transistor TR 220 which supplies a current to this conductive film is controlled to form a potential distribution on the conductive film. An insulating film is provided on the conductive film, and a conductive member in the front end of a stylus pen 205 is capacitive coupled to the conductive film through the insulating film, and as the result, the potential on the conductive film is detected. Since the conductive film has a uniform resistance value in the surface direction, the potential distribution on the conductive film is linear. Therefore by only processing output signal of the stylus pen 205, the position pointed with the stylus pen 205 can be obtained.</p> |
