<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of an off-track or a deviation of azimuth by pressing the surfaces around the upper/lower ends of a magnetic tape respectively by the inclined surfaces at the upper/lower sides of a tape guide. CONSTITUTION:In the subject tape guide, as to the angle between the vertical direction against the sliding surface 1c with the magnetic tape 3 and the inclined surface la at the upper side and also the angle between the vertical direction or normal direction against the sliding surface 1c with the magnetic tape 3 and the inclined surface 1b at the lower side, either one of them is set to 0-10 deg. and another one is set to 10-30 deg. Thus, the magnetic tape 3 is controlled by the crossed line part of the sliding surface 1c and the upper/lower inclined surfaces 1a, 1b in the tape guide. Consequently, the positional control for the running height of magnetic tape 3 is made by the tape guide without generating a tape edge damage, a tape curl and a recess on magnetic tape 3 in the breadthwise direction.</p> |
