<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the stable holding force of a cassette holder, and simultaneously, to obtain a sensation of operation. CONSTITUTION:In a magnetic recording and reproducing device in which the cassette holder 11 is held freely ascendable and descendable to a sliding chassis 15 by two elevating/lowering mechanisms 16 and 17, the number of teeth of a pinion 40 at an elevating/lowering mechanism 16 side is increased and the floating of the elevating/lowering mechanism 16 side is prevented when the cassette holder 11 is lowered, then the stable holding force is obtained. Also, the thickness of the teeth of the racks 38 and 39 engaged with pinions 40 and 41 at the lowered position of the cassette holder 11 is thickened and the backlash quantity of the racks 38 and 39 and the pinions 40 and 41 is decreased when the cassette holder 11 is lowered, then the good operability is obtained.</p> |
