The fluid or powder is distributed by a mobile head that is supplied through a hose. The head is carried on a mobile carriage (1) that is attached to a cable (20) that is supported horizontally between two pulleys (21,22). One of the pulleys (21) is driven by a motor. The direction of rotation of the motor is reversed when an end-of-travel switch at either end of the cable operates.There is also provision to measure the position and the speed of the carriage, and a central controller that is programmed to alter the distribution of materials at different points along the path of the carriage.
