Lorry with front guard protecting against overriding

Each set of steps (14) with integral tread surfaces (16,17) forms an energy-absorbing guard (15) against overriding a car etc. on collision. The guard can be rigidly fixed to the lorry chassis (20,21), while extending to the front bumper (12) and being supported by it. The width for which each guard extends can be a multiple of the width of the front wheel. The guard can be of honeycomb structure with chambers extending in the lengthwise direction of the lorry.
