A loading trough (17) is attached to the front of the refuse collection receptacle (13). The trough contains a one-piece compacting plate (19) which is movable along vertical guide rails by means of controls.Inside the compacting and loading trough is a partition plate (16). The trough, especially in the compacting plate's area of movement, contains a hopper (18) matching the compacting plate's radius of movement. The compacting plate, when lowered, closes an opening (20) in the receptacle. A protuberance (23) in the compacting plate's area of movement, matches the plate's radius of movement.
