In its broadest form the present invention provides an apparatus (1) for framing a portion of a fabric workpiece in an embroidery hoop, the apparatus (1) comprising a mount (25) for a hoop holder (2), such that when mounted on said apparatus (1) said hoop holder (2) holds and locates a female portion of an embroidery hoop, a workpiece holder (3), to spread or hold a fabric workpiece over the hoop holder (2), and a support assembly (5) to orient and locate the hoop holder (2) and workpiece holder (3) in position in a substantially common plane when said embroidery hoop is to be mounted on said workpiece, characterised in that the apparatus further includes adjustment means (41, 42 and 43, 45) enabling adjustment of the relative positions of the workpiece holder (3) and the hoop holder (2) within the substantially common plane. |
