<p>A material processing apparatus (10) includes a casing (52) including an outer wall (54) having a substantially one-sided figure eight configuration, a plurality of upper inner walls (116, 118, 120, 122) disposed inside of the outer wall (54) and being spaced apart and having substantially concentric cylindrical configurations, and a lower inner wall (124) disposed inside of the outer wall (54) and disposed below the upper inner walls (116-122). The upper inner walls (116-122) define an upper airtight vessel (12) which defines a heat exchanger (46), while the lower inner wall (124) defines a lower airtight vessel (12) containing a material processing chamber (16). The apparatus (10) also includes a heater unit (22) having a plurality of elongated electric heating elements which are mounted through spaced side portions of the outer wall (54) and lower inner wall (56) of the casing (52) so as to extend across the material processing chamber (16) in an orientation positioned intermediately between vertical and horizontal orientations.</p> |
