<p>An improved hose fitting (10) is disclosed. The hose fitting has a body member (11) with a coupling nut (18) at one end (13). A socket member (25) surrounds the body member (11) and together they define an opening (27) for receiving a hose. A plurality of projections (33) extend inwardly from the interior surface (26) of the socket member (25). Each projection (33) includes an inner side or surface (48), an outer side or surface (49) and a tip surface (50) connecting the inner surface (48) and the outer surface (49). The tip surface (50) extends a distance 'X' from the interior surface (26) of the socket member (25). An enlarged radius defines a circular outer surface on each projection (33). The radius is between .5x and 1.3x and is preferably 'x'.</p> |
