The object of the invention is a pulse combustion boiler, which includes an essentially vertical combustion tube (1), a compensation chamber (2) at its lower end, a grate (7) in the lower part of the combustion tube, fuel feed devices (12, 13, 14) for feeding fuel to the grate (7), combustion air feed devices (21, 25), and one or more heat exchange surfaces (23) for recovering the heat produced by the boiler. The boiler includes an upper compensation chamber (1) at its upper end and after this in the direction of flow a separator (15) for separating the unburnt particles. The solid particle outlet connection (16) is connected by means of a return line (19) to above the grate (7) of the combustion tube (1) in order to burn the unburnt residue and thus to reduce losses.
