SLUDGE TREATMENT PROCESS AND PLANT

A plant has a fluidised bed dryer (1) and a fluidised bed cooler (2). A mixer (3) in which supplied thick sludge is mixed with dried sludge is arranged upstream of the fluidised bed dryer. The dried sludge is branched off between the fluidised bed dryer (1) and the fluidised bed cooler (2). The amount of recirculated dried sludge is controlled depending on the temperature of the sludge mixture upstream of the fluidised bed dryer (1). The dust produced during drying is fed back to the drying process.
