PURPOSE:To reproduce a character image which has rotated by 90 degrees at high speed and exactly by bringing a picture element derived based on the difference of sub-scanning direction components of a contour picture element to coordinate transformation and generating the contour picture element of the character image brought to image rotation. CONSTITUTION:When there is the difference of main scanning direction components Yn, Yn+1 of the adjacent contour picture elements Pn, Pn+1, the difference DELTAXn of sub-scanning direction components0 Xn, Xn+1 of the conto0ur picture elements Pn, Pn+1 is derived. Subsequently, a rotating picture element is derived by classifying into a case when the value of DELTAXn corresponding to the contour picture element Pn is '1', a case when the value is -1, and a case when the value is '0'. By bringing this picture element to coordinate transforma tion, the contour picture element of a character image brought to image rotation is generated. In such a way, the rotation of 90 degrees of the contour picture element can be executed by a single processing. |
