The plate (18) is positioned height adjustably over a plate (16) fixed to the ski (14). The elasticity of a hydraulically or pneumatically operating, elastic element in the form of an air cushion (22) is adjusted by a control.A spring loaded slide piece (26) moved by an adjusting spindle (28) exerts pressure on the air cushion. The volume of the air cushion is adjusted by a ring or band contracted from outside. The air cushion is filled from outside by a pressurised air source, and released by a valve. The plate covering the elastic element changes height by a sleeve (20) fixed to the ski.
