A gully emptier has a container (1) to which is connected a water jet injector pump or a vacuum/pressure pump for slurry. A discharge hose provided at a liftable and lowerable end with a filter (26) is arranged in the container (1) upstream of the connection to the suction side of a low lift pump (42). A float (31) is linked to the filter. Thanks to the float which floats at the surface of the water, the filter is automatically maintained at a predetermined depth below the surface of the water (4) even when the water level changes. The operators thus no longer need to manually adjust it. By using a floodable or inflatable float, the distance between the filter and the surface of the water may be accurately adjusted. |
