The motors (3, 4) are supplied with AC from respective invertors (5, 6) having DC intermediate circuits (5b, 6b) which are connected directly (40, 50) to 600 V outputs from a convertor (8) fed from a 60 V battery (7).The convertor is initiated by a special connection (20) and has a supplementary AC output (30) giving 24 V for a switchboard in command of transformers, Venetian-blind drives etc. The rectifying sections (5a, 6a) of both invertors are supplied directly from the 400 V AC or three-phase mains (60).
