In addition to the bosses (2), there can be elongated holes in a grid pattern in the plate, accommodating clamps. The plate surface can be magnetisable, while each clamp can consist of a permanent magnet with a spike. Alternatively needles can be used, on a magnetisable plate, in conjunction with a permanent magnet. The plate can have concentric drillings, allowing adjustment round its central axis.
