Stringed instrument with keyboard-operated hammers

The strings are struck by hammers actuated by the keys. Each hammer (11) has a spring tongue (13) bearing via chamfers against a stop and a tappet rod (12) sliding in the hammer longitudinal direction. The rod is fixed to a boss (22), moved on actuating a key upwards in the hammer in opposition to the moment of inertia of the latter. This swings the tongue outwards with an extension (14) on it and towards the string (28). The tongue spring (17) can have an adjustment (20) varying the pressure of the tongue against the stop.
